OMG!! I have internets again!! Ah, this feels so good, I'm so happy, but alas, it will only last for a few scant days. For I will be going back to Florida by next week. Anyways, I gradiated! but that was like a month ago! I'm so behind >_< Anyways, I'm inbetween finding a job and applying for graduate school. I was thinking Interactive Design and Game Development, maybe, but I don't want to have to take the Bacheolor's classes, I think it would tack on another year!! so that'd be like 3 years if i wanted an MFA. Blah. Of course, If I took something like Illustration, I prolly wouldn't have to take any of the Bachelors classes for that, but ah well. I applied for a job at Hot Topic down in Florida. I was surprised there was one there even, in the mall of Boynton Beach. I got it in the mean time to make some extra cash, specially if I was going back to school. Just waiting for there reply, course since I'm not in Florida if they call, I'll have to wait till then to see. Anyways, i gonna get my sketchy book and scan some junk since I don't have access to a scanner right now. ;_; Let's hope this old computer can handle it. |

It seems like every time i try and update this journal, it won't let me, something about read only mode or something like that. Anyways, not much and everything has been going on. This is my last quarter here in the hallowed halls of SCAD and I couldn't be any more happier and freaked out at the same time. Ah well, guess I'll manage. Right now, the big thing I'm waiting for is Editor's day. If all goes well, I might get a job with TokyoPop(doing my own story no less, ah how I hope and dream). So, that's my Senior Project, pumping out as many pages of SEP as possible. All while attempting not to be distracted by the internet and other things. Other classes this quarter include Fantasy Illustration(which I'm doing my own version of Red Riding Hood for) and Computer Coloring(which is kicking my ass, I so love traditional a whole lot more). Suppose I should post that junks on mi DA account. Yes, I have a DA account. No, I don't remember if i posted here that I actually got one or not. User names the same as my journal one. Ah...well, guess I should try and get some sleep. Class is at 3 and I still have to finish coloring a page... ::sigh:: |

Sooo...It's been a really long time since I've wrote anything in this journal...a really, really long time. Guess I need to work on that some more, eh?
So what's been going on?? Not alot at all really. I think since I've been on here, I've started a deviant art account....same id as this. Just a few things up from assignments and old stuff I still had a liking for. Holidays were good, got some nice businessy looking clothes(heh, I need those now don't I?). Also working on things to send out for jobs! AH!!!! I'll need one of those soon... Course, if I go to Grad school, that'll subside that for another 2 years...maybe not... Would like to work at the same time..that'd be cool...
In other news, the Class run down for this quarter is:
Advanced Script Writing(helps me to write more b3tter!?<\)
Manga Comice(helps me to play video games during class makes me draw and get submission material...)
Pencilling and Inking II(continuation of Pen and Ink I but with harder assignments.)
All in all, great fun so far. In Script Writing, I'm doing a 30 pg Ghost/Detective/Fantasy story that I hope to draw next quarter in Senior Project. Manga comics, I plan to draw some pages for that yakuza story that I've pretty much got solid. And Pen and Ink will make me do stuff I don't usually do....which is good.
But alas! I should get back to work(and by work, I mean playing Maple Story...) Oh yeh! My new obsession being said game. If anyone is on, my id is Vaiox lvl 28 rouge, main chara for my account. Also started on the beta for R.O.S.E online, but that junk is always full and so laggy. I don't like it too much, but the chara designs are awesome. I think I'm partial to Maple because it is 2d... Ok, till the next month(jk, jk...I think...) See y'all later!

I have internet!! ::phew!:: while at my aunt's, I was without this precious commodity, but finally I have access...for a little bit anyways. Right now, I'm back at my Mema's getting my clothes washed and my stuff together to move back into the dorms ;_; finally, i'm so happy i get to go back! Well...that is if Ivan-san decides that it doesn't want to make us evacuate. I was up in GA when Francis hit my home state of FL so I didn't really have to deal with all that... Although, we wouldn't have evacuated anyways, since my father decided to stay down in Boynton anyways(which is...oh...let's say 30 min. from West Palm) but the storm hit further up by Ft. Pierce so they didnt' get hit too bad. He said there were fallen limbs in the yard they had to pick up, but no real damage to the house, so that's good. I really don't hope we have to hold back school cuz of the new hurricane, though... Even though Francis didn't hit us, we still got a number of floods in the area, and that's no fun. Course, if Ivan goes as far east as it could, i could hit savannah..but oh well. I'm gonna go finish doing stuff...and that most likely means playing some game or fooling around...or are those the same?? |

so ends my stay in the "Mary" state of Marylaynd... Ha! pun... Anyways, I suppose the days have been lax here. Lately, the most trouble has been with SCAD... For some reason, they want to mess me up with money this quarter. First, they could make the transaction through my card and then when I sent a check, they said it wasn't enough for what I was trying to pay for... grr... Well, the lady said she would talk to my bursar rep(since that's who I got the price from...) and if there was no trouble she wouldn't call back. Since she hasn't called back, I'm assuming there's no trouble...better not be unless I'd have to pull out the pointy stick... So far, the classes lined up are...

Ah, well, the only questions now are... When does class start? (all roads point to Sept. 15...but that's so far away...) and Should I play the violin or the cello? I was going to play the violin, mostly because I was so set on that instrument...I didn't know, however, that you could pick the cello...decisions, decisions...
Birthday was cool! I woke up late ;p and then my mom took me out to Applebee's where I bought my first drink. A strawberry margarita of some sort('mucho' sized) followed by a Kaluha Mud slide. I'm not big on drinking anyways, so it wasn't that big of a deal really. We just talked and ate some of the sampler appetizer she ordered. After that, we went to Best Buy and I picked up a copy of Evangelion Platinum. I always meant to buy the Eva series, but never had the cash at the time to get it. So my love for Eva combined with the slight buzz of alcohol was enough to persuade me to start buying the series. I even got the box that you can put the others in as they come out. Heh, the most persuasive part was that Sadamoto's art was all over the box so if anything, I got more Sadamoto, and that's always good. I didn't watch it till the next day, but all the nostalgia coming back from when I first watched the series came running back. It's wierd how a series that's nearly 10 years old still holds the same excitement for me when I see it. Something that hasn't been present in a show(for me anyways) in a long time. This past weekend, birthday celebrations continued suprisingly. I got to spend the weekend with ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) yagami_kun and that, no question, was loads of fun. I got to expirience(among other things) one of the best thing on this earth. A Cosi sandwhich. When we entered the place, I exclaimed "This is just like a Quizno's" much to the disappointment of yagami_kun. However, I've had to eat my words(twice), because that place...too good. So good, I forced him to go a second time. I also picked up a pack of Rapidographs that were on sale for 45 bucks(when the usual price is around 60) So that was great as well...now just to learn how to use them without the ink getting all over the place. Other than spelling out the whole thing, we had a couple collab drawing sessions which included me mimicking his style....cept for the fact that I didn't draw the most obvious characteristic nokato has in his drawings... Good weekend great fun.
Oh! yeh! I almost forgot. I also was able to snag a copy of TMR's new single for Spiderman 2!! I always wondered why he was at the premiere and when I was scanning ebay for some TMR items, I saw a Spiderman 2 soundtrack for the Japanese release!! It has 3 songs on it. Web of Night, Tears Macerate Reason(i might have spelled Macerate wrong) and the english version of one of them. I think Web of Night. I'm so excited about it. I wonder when the songs actually play in the movie...
Anyways, I better get packing! Have to wake up early in the morning... |

Today went by incredibly slow... Staying up till 3 last night wasn't a good idea seeing as how I had to wake up around 7 today. I forgot all about the dentist appointment my Mema scheduled(well, it was her appointment, but she switched out so I could go.) Not having gone to the dentist in about a year and a half now...well, that's it. I hadn't gone in a year. I had to fill out little paperwork and then I was sent in the back as usual per visits go. It was a basic teeth cleaning so it wasn't too bad. The bad news is that I have a cavity! Why me. I hate getting those shots. I hate shots in general. Course there's no set date yet, so I don't have to worry too much about it. The only thing I hated about getting a filling before was that wierd sensation when the tooth was getting drilled. It didn't hurt..but it was really wierd feeling. Good news is, I don't have to get my wisdom teeth removed. Ah well. I just hope I get it filled before I have to loose the tooth all together.
After the dentist, we went to the store, then came back. I tried to work on this printer a little more, but no luck again. Funny thing is, it installs on my pc just fine... ::sigh::
I finally got unstuck in HoD...but then got stuck again...well, not as stuck as before, but I am clueless as where to go next. I will not look at a FAQ!! .... Course, if i don't solve this within a week, I will be tempted to. .... Such a productivity killer... |

Well, not that too much has happened... If by too much you mean earth shattering destruction. But nothing too bad that it wasn't corrected.
In other news. We ended up doing this project for my scripting class where we had to send off a story idea to a company, and I actually got a response. Pretty cool. Now I have to get off my butt and draw some pages. Anyways, that's an intro for the sketch of the day. The story's based off some monk characters I just drew one day for fun. I figured why not, I'm bored, I just finished watching Iron Monkey and I want to make a random character. Course, this was about a year or 2 ago... So I was thinking, I never drew this chara in color, but I had colors in mind and wanted to see if they worked out and so...

Well, plan is to see Spiderman 2 this week. Doc Oc looks so cool, and it looks like they got someone good to fit the part. That movie better be good or I will be oh so disappointed. I really don't have much to say now that I think about it.
Oh yeh! I got this really cool book the other day. It's called 'Anatomy for the Artist' and it's really cool. Heh, nice vocab, eh? Anyways, more than just having drawings that other people have done it has pictures of actual models In different poses. But it also has overlays, like a drawing of the skeleton over a model. Really cool. And more than just telling you how to draw, it actually gives you information about the different systems of the body. Sure, knowing how long the intestinal track is won't help me drawing, but it seems to go back to the idea that the artist was well rounded. You know like Da Vinci and the like. It doesn't go into a lot of details about the systems, just enough so you know what the underlying structure to the body is. But it's really interesting and I don't have a problem reading through it. So far so good. I would recommend it even if you weren't interested in drawing the human body. but of course, if you don't like looking at naked people, don't bother. ...and not like that porno stuff...I know how certain people think *cough*pkoceres*cough* you can even check it out at a book store before shellin out the price for it... but, yeh, good book. I will get off the soap box now.
All day today I've been typin up stuff for my Mema and trying to install this new printer/fax/scan/copy machine she got on her pc. Unfortunately, her PC is a little *cough*understatement*cough* old and the damn thing doesn't want to work. It's a USB! It should take 5 seconds! But the computer doesn't even recognize the thing's hooked up. I plug it into my pc and it's fine...gah. So now I need to find the Win disk to see if the right things were installed for the USB ports, or if it's some other config thing. If anyone knows anything to fix it, much appreciated will be your help. Anyways. I guess I'm done for now. Man I'm hungry... |

Yes, I'm still alive and kickin'. Not that anyone would really notice. Getting online is harder down here... I don't want to tie up the phone lines and all, and it's 56k... I get so used to the fast junk at school that I forget that there's anything slower :p Well, once I get used to this again, I'll be back in school. This ain't so bad though...
Not much has been going on lately. I've been travelin around with my Mema all around the state of Georgia. It has more cities than I ever thought. A lot of them small and some surprisingly a fairly good size. And more Wal-marts than the law should allow. I didn't think small towns would have one, but I was proven wrong(well, not everyone did, but at least within 2 or 3 cities...and they're like at least 30 miles from each other, not too far...) But I've been an AV person of sorts. Setting up the computer and running her powerpoint presentation and setting up other things. Nothing too bad. That and making new presentations and all sorts of computer stuff. Needless to say, that doesn't leave too much time for drawing, but enough that I should be getting off my lazy ass and doing so.
That being said, I haven't kept up with my sketch a day thing to much..If projects and stuff count. I need to start drawing again.
A bit of good news! My old pc, Iori(may he rest in peace) was thought to have all the info lost on him. When I took him to a repair shop(firstly Best Buy and then some other place) they said I couldn't get my harddrive!(well, BB said, but other place said they could take the drive out) Anyways, I was going to get charged by the hour around the area of 60-80 dollars if I wanted to get all my stuff off... I'm a student. I'm broke. That wasn't going to happen. ;_; So, like I said before, I was traveling with my Mema and I saw she had a projector and the wheels started to turn. All I needed to do was access the start up screen so I could enter the password, and then I could set the files to share and network my two PCs. When I first plugged old Iori in, it was a no go. So I started thinking, maybe he really he is dead...all my work.. but the second time, it kicked in. That familiar face...that laugh... I was in! Oh precious files how I love thee! I have them all back. So good. So now I'm not as set back as I thought I was and all is good...
I also got some new games over the summer. One being XIII and the other Yanya Caballista:City Skater So Yanya, uh..I guess it's like Jet Set Radio graphics wise but not as good. The gameplay seems really interesting. You have to skate and complete tricks to destroy the aliens that have taken over the city. Cute. If I could get past the practice mode, I might actually have some fun with it ^^; Nah, it's still fun. Very interesting game. And XIII I love it. But that's a given since it has a lot of comic elements to it "TA TA TA TA TA TA TA TA TA!" And since I've gotten my collection of GBA game back, the productivity killers today included Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Castlevania: HoD, and Minna no Oujisama. Maybe it was better off when I couldn't access the files off my old computer... |

soo... I should be heading for class right about now, time seems to pass by so fast now a days with all my classes being on MW.. I'm really excited about this Conceptual Illust project I'm doing, I got some really good ideas when I presented my story and now I just feel like working on it. Well...that's the class I'm headed to at the moment so I guess it'll have to wait. I'll also be going out of town this weekend... well, this morning and I prolly won't have time to do much tonight.. gah. Well, off to class with me. |

whee! I haven't written in a while... well, not much going on here. Iori-san took his last breath about a month ago and will be replaced with the new and improved... I don't have a name for the new laptop yet, but when it comes in, I'm sure it will scream it's name out to me. Maybe I should name it after a girl...since none of my electronic devices are girls. Maybe that's why they all break, since I name them after characters who have 'bastard' attitudes... But those are my favorites...
In other news, I've had a little spare time and have begun to play all those games I've bought, but haven't played through. I beat .hack//SIGN vol 1 finally, and need to get the rest... gar... but Castlevania: LOI is done...although that one didn't take long, since I'm a Castlevania fiend.(and Yamane's compositions are so wonderful.). Um...still need to finish DMC and MGS2... As well as Xenosaga and KH...which surprisingly I don't hate as much as I thought I would. It's still not worth all the hype and praise I heard for it, but it's good. More like novelty I guess. I never thought I'd get to see Malifacent in a game, so that's always cool. Anyways, that's what I've been playing lately...and I still need to get my system modded so I can play some PoT!!!! Maybe I'll just do it myself since I'll prolly never send it in. hrrm.... and Space Channel 5 part 2! So good. Makes me wish I had rhythm...
On another note, classes this quarter seem to be pretty cool. I have Comic Book Scripting, Speech and Public Speaking(i hate speeches!!!), and Conceptual Illustration, which will probably be the funnest...if that's a word...out of the group. We have 9 weeks to work on this project...so I should get started on it now...but I'm such a procrasinator... Good note is I do have one character rotation for the head done...only...3 more charas to go... ::sigh:: It's fun though!
Ok..so..nothing exciting, i guess... But I do want to know if anyone knows how to extract info off of a hard drive onto another computer... or even to cd or some other format? I've been to some places and it seems expensive to have them do it. If I could do it myself, it would be so much more polite to my pocket. |

Ok, well, ups and downs lately but I suppose all in all it's been good. We just finished reading Dante's Inferno or Divine Comedy whatever it is or if it's both. I got some good ideas from it. Lately, I've been trying to get work together for a portfolio since an editor from...a company is coming to SCAD and I signed up for a portfolio review. Good news. Bad news is that I only find about 3 of my pieces worthy for portfolio quality work. I have another one, but it's not here with me...lot of good that does, eh? Well, Anyways, I figure since I have to do a visual from one of the stories we read in our World Masterpieces class, I'd do it now and make it portfolio worthy. Sure I might look like a showoff in my English class, but killing two birds with one stone is always good. Especially since I'm not very fond of birds to begin with. Chara designs for Dante, Virgil, the She-wolf, the Lion and the Leopard are complete! Now just to plan out how to make the first chapter in sequential form...ah, to bad it's so late...and that reminds me...
I just got out of Asian Cinema Club and we screened Akira Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai. A great movie. I had watched it before a long time ago, but it was good to see it again especially since I had forgotten a good bit of it. Ah, Toshiro Mifune. Anyways, highly recommended movie if you haven't seen it already. It's long, like 3 hours, but it's soo good. Alot of movies were inspired by it so that's always cool to see. Plus all the camera angles and stuff help me out alot. Anyways...I sound like a real art dork...but I don't really care since I am.
